a quiet riot

actor - comedian - screenwriter - producer

a kind kind of comedy

Emma (she/her) is a warm and wacky Los Angeles-based creative who was voted “most likely to knit her own clothing” in high school. She’s described as Alyson Hannigan with the wit of Allison Pill and the quirk of Zooey Deschanel. Emma got a degree in theater and social work at Skidmore College and trained with The Commonwealth Shakespeare Company, The Atlantic Acting School in New York, and The Gaiety School of Acting in Dublin. Emma apprenticed at The Portland Playhouse in Portland, Oregon, where she established roots as a professional actor, performing at various professional theaters and on television shows like Shrill (Hulu) and Trinkets (Netflix). Emma hosted and performed in a monthly comedy show focused on destigmatizing shameful topics. As a person who loves people, Emma got her masters in social work and is a mental health therapist by day, a writer/producer/actor by night, pouring love and passion into her dramedic web series, Totally Normal. Today she is a new L.A. transplant living her best life as an actor who wants to make you laugh and cry through comedy. Emma ‘s comedy comes from her unique perspective on life that catches you by surprise.

You might find me pontificating on:

  • Identifying as “mid-size” like a cool SUV and other cool body positivity topics

  • How b.s. it is that tampons have a “luxury tax” and other cool feminist topics

  • My anxiety about anxiety and other cool mental health topics

  • Slivers of hope in the sh*t storm of late stage capitalism which is so easy to find (hahahahah…ha) and other cool anti-capitalist topics

“She was very convincing.  With just a prop or costume piece, and a walk or voice change, she played a variety of roles and very believably, too.”
